Tropical Paradise – Kauai’s Heana Beach
Haena Beach Park is one among the prominent north shore attractions of Kauai. we can see how popular this beach is by how many people visit it each year. The presence of Mount Makana directly behind the beach is the major factor contributing to the magnificent look of the beach. This is the major reason why the view comprises of creepers and other beautiful plants clinging to the sides. The exotic northern pacific also makes it a great place for vacations.
Some of the more popular activities are picnicking and camping. The sudden drop off as well as undertow is a factor making the water conditions in the beach treacherous. The presence of many other tourist destinations in the vicinity of the beach makes it a lot more popular. Heana is famous for the campgrounds in the summer, even though many people like the luxury vacation rentals in the area like Hale Makai Cottages.
Maniniholo Dry Cave is also among the factors adding to the popularity of the destination. This is by the foot of the Makana Moutain. Waikanaloa Wet Cave, the counterpart of Maniniholo is also near the beach. The Waikanaloa Wet Cave if famous for its large, still water pool.
According the myth, both these caves were dug by menehune, the little industrious people of Kauai. The fable states that Maniniholo, the chief fisherman of menehune ordered these caves in the search of Akua, a fish-stealing creature. These caves are close to Kee Bach which is another popular destination.
It is not among the flattest terrains and this makes the journey a little slow. Limahuli National Tropical Garden is another popular destination for tourists. It is between Haena beach and Waikokanaloa wet cave.
This garden is an awesome place that shows all of the different plants that you will find on Hawaii. The garden is built in terraces. The view from the top of the Limahuli is exotic with a panorama of the Makana Mountain. The beach is of great importance in the tourist map of the country. However, getting to the locations is easy through Hanalei. You can also witness the famous one lane bridges of Hanalei.
Heana beach is another great reason to visit the Kauai North Shore!
